Following my last post about travelling to Brazil for my friends wedding, we have decided to go for it. My friend’s sister will be taking my wife under her wing for the trip to make sure she doesn’t have any nuts inadvertently (she is seriously allergic). This has gone some way to relieve my fears, but I am going to be learning as many useful related phrases as I can before go. ‘Please don’t kill my wife’ may come in handy.
We have been invited to stay with the sister for a week of so, I guess since we are travelling the furthest of the guests and we will be most out of our depth, so we don’t have to think about accommodation at least. There still seems like a lot to do though. Book flights, car hire, make sure we get the clothing right for the temperature and wedding etc.
I looked up the cost of the flights for the two of us the best deal for the dates we need (June 2010) was £2300. That’s put a bit of a downer on the plan, but at least when we get there we have two weeks of relaxation. It seems crazy to even be considering it but we have used a loan calculator to wok out how much loan we can take out. I have just received a pay rise, so at least the extra can go into paying it off.
I have only looked briefly at on line flights so far, so I shall have a trip into town and check out the travel agents to see if they have any deals. I can also go to the various loan brokers to see the best deals at the same time.
Well that’s my Saturday sorted, my wife will be pleased, a trip to town and an excuse for new clothes!
