Another place I indulge is for Sunday lunch. I enjoy cooking to the extent that we ordered to culture package in addition to our normal sky package, just so that we would have the food channel. I love to make gravy using wine and drinking a glass with dinner.
We always drink wine at dinner parties, it really is expected. It amused me going to my t-total sisters house for a dinner party, she had to call my parents to loan her wine glasses and a corkscrew; the expectation to serve wine at these occasions is so high. The opposite is true for my new sister in law, she likes a drink and being Japanese feels like it is her duty to keep your glass always full, you have to be quite careful because it’s easy to get very drunk quickly.
Actually my brother and sister in law are on there way around this weekend; I had better get down to Sainsburys to stock up.
