It has been awhile since I have written about my new cat. The last time he had started to eat solid food which I am glad to say that he has continued to do and has gone from strength to strength. He has really become one of the family I could not imagine him not being here, from greeting us with purrs when we first get home to waking us up in the middle of the night biting our feet.
We let him outside for the first time two weeks ago. It was a bit of a shaky start, after his first adventure outside he came back in and developed a massive lump on his side. Luckily it turned out to be nothing, possibly an allergic reaction to an immunisation, and the lump went back down.
He is now outside as much as he can, sitting in the neighbours bird table and catching flies. He still isn’t going very far away, he has to come back inside every three minutes to make sure we are still there and we haven’t ran away without him.
Strangely he is still suckling my elbow every chance he gets. It’s not very nice I constantly have damp arms when I am at home which is just gross, but as its him its ok.
In the house he has claimed his own spot. He has his own chair in the living room where he sits and watches us as he snoozes. He even has his own seat at the table. He sits on the chair seat under the table and every so often pop up to see if he can steal some food.
At night he has a basket where we keep clothes we have worn but will wear again. He sleeps up there until about 5 in the morning then comes to wake us up. Every night I have the kick him out the room to let us get some more sleep.
He has developed a lot character of his own since we got him as a sickly little kitten and I think he is the best thing we got this year.
