Travelling the world

June 15th, 2009

I have only ever really seen Beaches in the UK so to me beaches are cold and next to a tea coloured sea.  I have been recently looking at a number of travel blogs and the pictures look fantastic.  The deep blue seas and cloudless skies look brilliant.  I would like to see if they actually exist or if it is camera trickery that makes it look so good.

My mind turned to travel because my Brother in Law recently got back from an around the world holiday.  He saved up for a number of years for a once in a life time holiday then starting in the USA he dotted around the globe before finally ending in Japan to live with his girl friend he lived in London before she returned home to her parents.

Because he lived in London in accommodation with shared facilities he got to meet a lot of people from a lot of countries.  This gave him a lot of contacts in a lot of the countries he travelled to in case of emergency.

I don’t think I would ever feel brave enough to travel how he did, it was all planned out for him in advanced with a travel agent, but much of the connections he had to work out himself and missing one could have caused a lot of problems.

With the travel industry having problems at the moment (even huge companies like Thomas Cook are having problems) I won’t be going anywhere soon.  Even if I did have the money to go away I wouldn’t want to go anywhere where I didn’t know the language.

I would like to get to know an area really well, to give me the chance to get to know the language and the culture.  Buying property for sale in a country like the Philippians would be really nice, then you just have the cost of the flights to pay.
