After yesterdays post about how I don’t really want I contract phone, I have reconsidered. I want a nice new phone that has all the gizmos that are around at the moment. I have always been behind the times when it comes to technology. I still don’t have an iPod or a GPS system for the car. I think it is time I caught up; ideally I would like one of the new smart phones.
I have always been a fan of Samsung since I have had my D900 and looking at the smart phones that are around at the moment the i900 Omnia has caught my eye. I would have to use one of those mobile phone buyers to cash in my mobile phone. The Omnia comes on a £35 a month contract on Orange which is a quite a price increase for me but it comes with 900 minutes and 500 texts so I will never run out. I guess it will also help my social life, if I have brought something I like to use it to the maximum. It will give me a target to use all the texts and minutes before the month is out.
The feature I am most interested in is the Wi-Fi connection. A friend from University during my PGCE had a Wi-Fi connection who used it all the time, mainly during practicals to find out what we were supposed to find when it all went wrong.
I am trying to convince my self that it is worth it, because I want a new phone which will cost around £150. £150 is the same price as 5 months on a contract, so really I am only paying for 7 months in total. I am going to find a mobile phone buyer which will hopefully give me enough money to pay for another months contract.
