Making use of the office

With our office complete we have come across one big problem, neither of us wants to work in there. It a lot more comfortable to work in the living room with the TV on as a distraction. Since we have had the office it’s only ever been used for storage of school books and using the desktop computer to scan and print stuff.

Luckily we have found a brilliant gadget for our house, a wireless TV transmitter an receiver. It allow us to beam the Sky TV from the living room to the office without any wires. All it is, is a transmitter plugged into the sky box and a small receiver plugged into the TV you want to watch the Sky Box on. It even has a way of changing channels on the Sky box from the room the receiver is in. There are some disadvantages, like if some one is using the microwave then the picture breaks up, and the power pack of the X Box has a bad effect on the picture, but other than that I can’t fault it.

I’m hoping that now we have a TV in there it will make us feel a bit more comfortable and we will use it a bit more often. We are also going to add a bit of colour to the walls (at the moment they are beige with a beige carpet so very dull). My wife used to do a lot of painting so one wall is going to become her art gallery to display all her best pieces.

As I am working on the office it will also give me an excuse to go stationery shopping. I really enjoy going around stationary suppliers and stationers to buy new stuff. I don’t know what it is but I always feel compelled to look along the stationery aisle in Tesco. At the moment we are looking to get a shredder to save time in ripping up all the receipts so I have an excuse to go somewhere like staples.
